Accessibility Guide to Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust now live

Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) have partnered with AccessAble to create Detailed Access Guides for the Trust’s sites and services.

The guides are 100% facts, figures and photographs and give lots of useful information to work out if somewhere is going to be accessible. They cover everything from parking to hearing loops, walking distances and accessible toilets.

We know everyone’s accessibility needs are different, which is why having detailed, accurate information is so important.  It’s why all of the details you’ll find in the guides have been checked in person, by trained surveyors.

As well as helping our service users and visitors, the free Accessibility Guide is ideal for carers, to help remove some of the strains associated with bringing a loved one to an unfamiliar place.

People considering applying for a role at HPFT will now be able to look up this useful information and existing staff visiting different locations in the course of their work will also benefit.

All the guides are available at www.AccessAble.co.uk and on the AccessAble App.

HPFT’s Director of Quality and Safety and Chief Nurse Dr Jane Padmore accepted a plaque at the official launch. She said:

“It’s so important to make our services as accessible as we can for our service users. These new guides will help with this, as well as reducing the numbers of missed appointments.”

Anna Nelson, Executive Director of AccessAble said:

“Hertfordshire Partnership is part of a trailblazing group of NHS Trusts who recognise how vital access information is for disabled patients, visitors and staff. Our initiative is all about enabling greater patient experience and access for everyone, giving confidence to plan a visit or discuss reasonable adjustments - making a visit less anxious, painful and difficult. I hope other organisations will recognise the leadership role the Trust has taken and look at how AccessAble can work for them and the people they serve.”
