Introducing Kerry Thompson - AccessAble Champion
We’d like you to meet our newest AccessAble champion, Kerry Thompson, who is helping to spread the word about AcccessAble and the vital work we do.
I live in the land of the Concrete Cows and roundabout, Milton Keynes. I have a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy called FHL1 Gene mutation, a progressive muscle wasting condition.
I'm a blonde in charge of a powered wheelchair full-time, I've always believed that it should never stop me from living life the way I want.
I start my blog My Life, Kerry's Way back in 2016 as a way for me to share my experiences living with a disability as well as keeping my mental health, healthy.
From starting my blog I found I had a passion for campaigning for disability rights where I've been very fortunate to work alongside Tesco on a project to build 35 changing places facilities, I have also written articles for The Huffington Post, The Independent and Scope.
I recently joined Habinteg housing new advisory group to Campaign for Accessible housing.
I’m extremely excited to become an AccessAble Champion - I want to share my passion for raising awareness of accessibility.
